On the occasion of the Bicentenary birthday celebrations of Giuseppe Verdi, the Consulate General of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) had organized a Gala Concert at St Paul’s Cathedral in Kolkata on Saturday, 16th November.
The orchestra of Italian and Indian musicians, conducted by Maestro Marco Balderi, presented some of the most beautiful arias of the composer from Parma from Nabucco, Il Trovatore, Rigoletto, Aida and La Traviata. Co-ordinated by The Neemrana Music Foundation, the programme was a great public success.
The concert was sponsored by Ferrero, Danieli and UBI Banca and supported by Hotel Taj Bengal and IndiGo airlines.
