Upon the ordinance of the Minister of Health of 22 February 2022, from 1 March 2022 the previous restrictions on mobility from India will be lifted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Except in the case of Covid-19 symptoms, entry into Italy from India can therefore take place under the following conditions:<\/p>\n

– submission of the Passenger Locator Form<\/a>, which can be checked upon departure and\/or upon arrival in Italy;<\/p>\n

– presentation, upon departure, of a valid COVID-19 green certification or other valid<\/strong> equivalent certification.<\/p>\n

COVID-19 green certification means:<\/p>\n

– certification proving completion of primary vaccination cycle (2 doses) against SARS-CoV-2,<\/p>\n

– certification proving administration of booster vaccine dose against SARS-CoV-2,<\/p>\n

– certification proving recovery after a SARS-CoV-2 infection,<\/p>\n

– certification proving the negative result of a rapid or molecular antigen test,<\/p>\n

issued by a country of the European Union or by one of the 33 countries <\/a>whose vaccination certificates are recognized by the European Union.<\/p>\n

Equivalent certification means:<\/p>\n

– certification proving completion of primary vaccination cycle (2 doses) against SARS-CoV-2 or administration of booster dose, with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency <\/a>(BioNTech & Pfizer, Novavax, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson), or with a vaccine considered equivalent in Italy<\/a>, including Covidshield<\/strong>;<\/p>\n

– certification proving recovery after a SARS-CoV-2 infection,<\/p>\n

– certification proving the negative result of a rapid antigen or molecular test<\/p>\n

issued by the competent health authorities of a third country, such as India.<\/p>\n

For the purposes of entry into Italy<\/strong>, the certification is deemed valid as follows:<\/p>\n

if issued after a complete vaccination cycle (2 doses) – 270 from the date of the second dose<\/p>\n

if issued after booster – valid until further notice<\/p>\n

if issued after recovery from a SARS-CoV-2 infection – 180 from the date of the first positive test<\/p>\n

if issued after recovery from an infection developed after a full cycle (2 doses) of vaccination – valid until further notice<\/p>\n

if issued after a rapid antigen test – 48 hours from the testing<\/p>\n

if issued after a molecular test – 72 hours from the testing<\/p>\n

Travellers not in possession of said certification or whose certification has expired<\/strong> will have to undergo:<\/p>\n

– upon arrival in Italy, to five-day quarantine<\/strong> at the address indicated in the Passenger Locator Form;<\/p>\n

– at the end of the quarantine period, to molecular or antigenic test<\/strong> (nasal, nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal). This obligation does not apply to children under the age of 6.<\/p>\n

Children accompanying parents not subject to quarantine are also exempt from quarantine.<\/p>\n

Important notice<\/strong>! Access to certain services in Italy is conditioned to the possession of a reinforced COVID-19 green certification (\u201csuper green pass\u201d). Such services include:<\/p>\n

– public transport, including at the regional and local level<\/p>\n

– hotels and touristic accommodations, including their catering facilities<\/p>\n

– bars and restaurants<\/p>\n

– cinemas, theatres, concert halls, museums and exhibitions<\/p>\n

– stadiums and sports facilities, gyms, team sports and swimming pools<\/p>\n

– private celebrations<\/p>\n

– public events<\/p>\n

– amusement parks<\/p>\n

– SPAs and wellness centres<\/p>\n

– cultural and recreational venues<\/p>\n

– gaming halls, betting shops and casinos<\/p>\n

– ski facilities<\/p>\n

– fairs and congress centres<\/p>\n

Holders of equivalent certifications will be able to access these services if in possession of:<\/p>\n

– certification proving vaccination against SARS-CoV-2, with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency <\/a>(BioNTech & Pfizer, Novavax, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson), or with a vaccine considered equivalent in Italy<\/a>, including Covidshield<\/strong>, not older than 180 days<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

– certification proving recovery after a SARS-CoV-2 infection, not older than 180 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The certifications issued after a booster dose of vaccination or following recovery from an infection developed after a complete vaccination cycle are valid until further notice.<\/p>\n

Travellers whose certifications are older than 180 days and those vaccinated with unauthorized vaccines or vaccines not recognized as equivalent in Italy<\/strong> (for example, Covaxin<\/strong>) will be able to access the above services only after carrying out rapid antigen or molecular tests with a negative result.
