We inform you that the current epidemiological situation in India has led to the adoption of further measures relating to the arrival in Italy from Indian territory.<\/p>\n

The Ordinance of the Minister of Health of 28 April 2021 established that starting from 28 April 2021, it is forbidden to enter and transit in the national territory to persons who in the fourteen (14) days before the entry into force of the Ordinance have stayed or transited in India. The measure, launched to contain the spread of the Sars-Cov-2 virus, is temporary and is currently in force\u00a0until 12 May 2021<\/span>.<\/p>\n

According to the Ordinance, entry into the national territory and air traffic from India is allowed only to those who:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. have their\u00a0registered residence<\/span>\u00a0in Italy from a date before the Ordinance of 25 April 2021;<\/li>\n
  2. are\u00a0authorized by the Ministry of Health<\/span>\u00a0to enter Italy for imperative reasons of necessity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Such entries are possible as long as the subjects do not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19.<\/p>\n

    Those entitled to enter the national territory are also subject to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. obligation to present to the carrier, at the time of boarding, and to anyone appointed to carry out the checks, of the\u00a0certification<\/span>\u00a0proving that they have undergone a molecular test in the\u00a0seventy-two (72) hours before entry<\/span>\u00a0into the national territory o antigenic, carried out through a swab, which has given a negative result;<\/li>\n
    2. obligation to undergo a\u00a0molecular or antigen test<\/span>, to be carried out through a swab, upon arrival\u00a0at the airport<\/span>\u00a0where possible,\u00a0or within forty-eight (48) hours<\/span>\u00a0of entering the national territory at the local health company of reference. In case of entry into the national territory by flight from India, the swab referred to in this letter is carried out at the airport upon arrival;<\/li>\n
    3. obligation to undergo – regardless of the outcome of the test referred to in letter b) – health surveillance and\u00a0fiduciary isolation for a period of ten (10) days at the “Covid Hotels”<\/span>\u00a0or in another suitable place indicated by the ‘health authority or the Civil Protection Department;<\/li>\n
    4. obligation to carry out a\u00a0further molecular or antigen test<\/span>\u00a0at the end of the ten (10) days of quarantine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Entry into the national territory is also allowed for:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • officials and agents, however named, of the European Union or international organizations, diplomatic agents, administrative and technical staff of diplomatic missions, consular officers and employees, military personnel, including those returning from international missions, and of the Police Forces, the personnel of the Information System for the safety of the Republic and of the Fire Brigade in the exercise of their functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The latter can request authorization from the Italian Ministry of Health to enter Italy based on validated health protocols. If the authorization is granted, such persons will be able to enter Italy under the following conditions:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. Undergo a molecular or antigenic test conducted through a swab, and result negative, in the forty-eight (48) hours before entry into Italy;<\/li>\n
        2. fill in the necessary digital localization form;<\/li>\n
        3. undergo a further molecular or antigenic test, conducted through a swab, upon arrival in Italy, at the airport, port, or border place, where possible, or within forty-eight (48) hours of entering the national territory at the local health company of reference;<\/li>\n
        4. isolation in “Covid Hotels” or in suitable places indicated by the health authority or the Civil Protection Department;<\/li>\n
        5. obligation to carry out a further molecular or antigen test at the end of the ten (10) days of isolation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Provided that no symptoms of COVID-19 arise and without prejudice to the reporting obligations referred to in Article 50 of the Prime Minister’s Decree of 2 March 2021 and art. 3 of the Ordinance 16 April 2021 (digital form), the entry ban and the obligation of isolation for ten (10) days do not apply to\u00a0crews and traveling personnel of means of transport for people and goods<\/span>\u00a0from India. However, these categories of travelers are in any case subject to the obligation of a molecular or antigen test, to be carried out through a swab, upon arrival at the airport, port or border place, where possible, or within forty-eight hours of entry in the national territory at the local health unit of reference. In addition, from the moment of entry into Italy and until the return flight, self-isolation is mandatory in the suitable places indicated by the health authority or the Civil Protection Department.<\/p>\n

          The Italian Embassy in New Delhi and the Italian Consulates General in Calcutta and Mumbai remain available for information and assistance.<\/p>\n
