The Farnesina collection is made up of more than 430 artworks and over 200 artists, for an insured market value exceeding 20 million euros. The collection spans from Futurism to the Transavanguarde through the work of Balla, Boccioni, Depero, de Chirico, Carr\u00e0, Sironi, Guttuso, Afro, Burri, Fontana, Schifano, Vespignani, Paladino. It forms an artistic heritage that was awarded the 2017 \u201cMecenati del XXI secolo\u201d Prize as \u201cbest art collection in the world held by public offices\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time in India, the network of Embassy, Consulate Generals and Italian Cultural Institutes is supporting\u00a0an exhibition\u00a0of a selection of artworks coming from the Farnesina modern Art Collection.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0selection will be on display in Kolkata, in the Indian Museum,\u00a0from 11th March until 24th March.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Farnesina (the name of the building hosting the Headquarters of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is home to an important colloection of\u00a0contemporary art.
